Gaza ∙ The Israeli army bombards Gaza without north or south. Israel continues its merciless attacks, demanding that people evacuate from areas previously declared as refugee zones. People in Gaza are living in hell with nowhere to go and fear of death at any moment. The war strategy of bombarding the same place following instructing where to evacuate is spreading fear.

Along with the airstrikes, army tanks have landed in southern Gaza ahead of the direct assault by troops. Tanks lined up near Khan Yunis. Tanks and other military vehicles advance by demolishing residential areas with bulldozers. People and cars were also fired upon. UNICEF, the United Nations child welfare agency, pointed out that what is happening now in Khan Younis is the worst attack of this war.

UNICEF spokesman James Elder said there were no words to describe the plight of children in the region. Most of the dead were children when Israel bombed what were supposed to be safe areas in southern Gaza’s Rafah. Whenever the building debris was removed and the bodies of the children were recovered, the people around cried loudly.

As of yesterday, the death toll reached 15,899, according to Ashraf al-Khudra, spokesman for the Gaza Ministry of Health. 70% of them are women and children. Hospitals are full of dead bodies. According to the UN relief agency, 1.9 million people in Gaza have been forced to flee their homes since the start of the war on October 7. 80% of people in the Gaza Strip have fled their homes and become refugees in fear of attacks. 12 lakh people are crammed in 156 shelters of the UN agency.

Telecom services were completely suspended in northern Gaza. Hamas’ military wing said it had carried out airstrikes on Israeli cities, including Ashkelon. Israel says it has destroyed 200 Hamas sites in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Israelis have been warned to avoid travel to countries in Western Europe, Africa and Central Asia as much as possible. The National Security Council has also discouraged travel to South America, Australia and Russia.

Yair Lapid, the leader of the opposition Yesh Atid party, has once once more called for the resignation of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said Netanyahu should be tried for war crimes. Western countries’ support to Israel was also condemned.
