The Crew Motorfest enters Year 2 with the biggest update ever released in the franchise’s history
Ubisoft has just announced that the long-awaited Year 2 of The Crew Motorfest, which includes Season 5 of the game, will be available worldwide starting this Wednesday (6), for users of PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Revealed during The Crew Showcase 2024, the new content for the open-world racing action game is the biggest update ever released by the Ubisoft Ivory Tower team, and players will have a substantial amount of new content to expand their experiences.
From November 6th, players can enjoy Season 5 of the game with a series of new features, such as the fantastic island of Maui, the Chase Squad experience and exciting playlists
With the arrival of Season 5, The Crew Motorfest adds the new island of Maui to the game for free, which has nine areas and biomes, as well as more than 470 km of new roads to explore. The location also offers unlimited opportunities for adventure, competition and fun, and can be accessed directly from O’ahu, with no loading time, which makes traveling between the islands a quick and enjoyable experience for all players.
Among other new features, the following playlists also arrive at The Crew Motorfest along with Year 2:
• Made In Japan Volume 2:
The sequel to the acclaimed list of cars, races and challenges provides an exciting and intense experience for nighttime street racing and will be available for free to all The Crew Motorfest players. By completing the sequence, players unlock access to Rival Races, a mode in which they can compete against 21 rivals spread across O’ahu and Maui, participate in dynamic random clashes and win exclusive rewards.
• Chase Squad:
Players embark on a high-intensity hunt to track, outrun and defeat street racing rivals in mind-bending showdowns across the island. Available via Year 2 season pass, this high-octane experience offers the chance to evolve from rookie to respected team member. After completing the Chase Squad playlist, players unlock new open-world chases featuring 21 additional street racers. Players will also discover exclusive and intense musical tracks by Carpenter Brut, a renowned French artist known for mixing elements of horror films, metal, rock and electronic music. These creations perfectly capture the intense atmosphere of the Chase Squad experience, and feature an exclusive track called Death Racer, which has been available on all digital and streaming platforms since November 1st.
The Chase Squad experience, which includes the playlist of the same name and is part of the Year 2 Season Pass, also gives access to 20 additional vehicles. Of these, seven are exclusive to players who complete dedicated missions and open-world chases, and 13 are monthly releases, with two available on 6/11. Gamers who purchase the updated Gold and Ultimate editions of The Crew Motorfest will also receive the new content and can purchase the previous pass at a reduced price.
Significant improvements
Season 5 of The Crew Motorfest brings several significant improvements for players. For the first time in The Crew franchise, functional rear-view mirrors are available for next-generation consoles and PC, which enhances situational awareness and offers a better view of competitors and the surrounding environment. Additionally, new Prestige Tickets allow players to unlock previously missed rewards in Summit Contests. Grand Race modifiers and Maui sections make their debut in the game, as does the No Collision feature, which deepen the user experience.
Finally, Bug Reporter, an online tool for reporting any issues in the game, provides greater transparency about the development process and ensures a better experience for all users.
With the arrival of Season 5, Ubisoft Ivory Tower also announces that The Crew Motorfest will be one of the first enhanced games for the new PlayStation 5 Pro, launching on November 7th.
The game will run at 60 FPS with an average resolution of 1696p during missions thanks to the new PSSR technology. Taking full advantage of the new console’s capabilities, The Crew Motorfest will reach an unprecedented level of visual quality on PS5 and will have sharper, cleaner images, in addition to displaying more objects on the screen — such as stickers, vegetation and people.
