The creator of “Muchachos” gave recognition to the players of the national team

This Monday, Conmebol held an event for the draw for the Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana 2023. In the preview, the parent body of soccer in South America paid tribute to the world champion team. In the first instance, the recognition came to the president of the AFA, Claudio Tapia, with a special mention as the best manager of South American football.

“They forgot one detail: to reward the best leader in the world,” praised Alejandro Domínguez to Chiqui, who was presented with the corresponding medal. “Today, Chiqui Tapia is the current leader who has won the most titles in the world. He endured indifference, humiliation and underestimation. Today, world champion, he is standing here, extremely humble. We recognize you as the best leader, ”he added.

“These players gave us the opportunity to be the best in the world. It had been many years since South America had this title, which the Europeans had been winning. Thank you very much to these players, to the coaching staff and to 10, the best player in the world, ”Tapia remarked in his speech.

Then it was the turn of Lionel Scaloni. The coach of the National Team was given a box with the three cups he won at the head of the team: replicas of the Copa América, the Finalissima and the World Cup.

“Thanks for the gift. Thanks to everyone who is here, to the players. Football belongs to them because we are coaches and we can’t play anymore. We try to provide them with tools for the playing field. Argentina was not just Argentina, but all of South America. She infected many countries. Seeing Mauro Silva, who is Brazilian and who is happy with what we have achieved, shows what this team has generated”, added Scaloni.

Fernando Romero and his participation in the tribute

In the tribute, it was time to recognize the world champion soccer players and the person who began the award ceremony was Fernando Romero, the fan who wrote the reversion of “Muchachos”, a song that originally belongs to La Mosca.

Romero spoke regarding the creation of the song on the field that went viral at the World Cup. “The merit belongs to the players because they represented us better than many people in centuries. Glory brought us peace and made us happy. I want to thank you in person. Something happened with the song that they made it their own and popularized it, ”he remarked.

Then, he presented an award to Ángel Di María, Leandro Paredes, Ángel Correa and Nahuel Molina.

The tribute continued with different fans who went viral in the context of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, and ended with Soledad Pastorutti singing Lionel Messi face to face.
