Battlestate Games Studio will not be adding in-game purchases for real money to Escape from Tarkov. The head of the company, Nikita Buyanov, spoke regarding this in an interview for Igromania.

Nikita Buyanov:

«[Что думаю насчет NFT и блокчейна?] I don’t like all this. I understand it and I know what it is. But if you don’t go too deep, I don’t really like all this, it’s not very interesting, and I don’t want to implement it in the game. We have bitcoin in the game and it’s pegged to the real price of bitcoin, but that’s regarding it. I don’t want the game to become a cryptocurrency earning service or anything like that. I basically don’t like it. Pictures to sell for tokens…

If the question is whether something like this will ever happen in my projects, it will never happen at all. Like the donation.”

According to Buyanov, the popularity of NFTs is similar to that of VR devices — audience interest is built solely on the “hype” that large companies are developing. At the same time, the technology itself, although interesting, is not breakthrough.

Earlier in Escape from Tarkov came out an update that added DLSS support to the game. In addition, following the release of the patch, Chiappa Rhino revolvers, special ammunition, and weapon and body armor repair kits appeared in the shooter. The developers of the title also changed the Scav behavior algorithm, improved optimization and fixed a number of bugs.
