South Korea has also banned its citizens from traveling to all regions of Ukraine and has urged South Koreans there to leave the country “immediately”. Meanwhile, Australia has ordered the departure of the last officials from its embassy in Kiev, in the face of the increasing deployment of Russian troops on the border, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced.
The evacuation followed similar announcements issued from Belgium, which advised its citizens to leave Ukraine and also avoid trips to this country, as announced by the Foreign Ministry. “Citizens who are in Ukraine and whose presence is not absolutely necessary are advised to leave the country,” the ministry said on its website.
Germany recommended last Saturday, February 12, to its citizens, whose presence was not “imperative” in Ukraine, to leave the country in a “short term” since a military conflict is not ruled out, indicated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, quoted by the AFP agency.
