THE Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) suspects a bribery game for the replacement of DPR members that is similar to the case of fugitive Harun Masiku. Former 2019 Election candidate from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Alexsius Akim was asked to explain the information on Monday (5/8).

“Witness AA, investigators are investigating a similar modus operandi to Harun Masiku and it occurred in the electoral district of West Kalimantan at the same time (crime),” said KPK spokesperson Tessa Mahardhika Sugiarto in a written statement, Tuesday (6/8).

Tessa was reluctant to detail the parties suspected of bribery transactions such as the Harun case investigated by investigators. But, she said, Alexsius was also asked to explain Masiku’s whereabouts.

“Investigators are also looking into the whereabouts of HM (Harun Masiku),” said Tessa.

Alexsius was questioned by the KPK as a witness in the alleged bribery case of PAW members of the DPR. After being questioned, he recounted his unilateral dismissal from the party with the bull logo.

“What is clear is that I should have been inaugurated, but I was dismissed,” said Alexsius at the KPK’s Red and White Building, South Jakarta, Monday (5/8).

At that time, he claimed to have received the most votes in West Kalimantan, however, he was kicked out of PDIP without any explanation.

“I don’t know why I was crossed out until today,” said Alexsius.

He also admitted that he did not receive a dismissal letter from PDIP. The incident was said to have been asked by KPK investigators.
