The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not yet issued an investigation warrant (sprindik) to determine former Deputy Minister of Law and Human Rights Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej alias Eddy as a suspect once more. There are still no new files for the bribe, PT Citra Lampia Mandiri Managing Director Helmut Hermawan.
“We haven’t issued a new sprindik yet,” said KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata in Jakarta, Thursday (7/3).
Alex might not specify the exact time for the publication of the new sprindik for Eddy and Helmut. However, he confirmed that the leadership had ordered investigators to re-arrest the two people.
“When it comes, it’s not certain. What is clear is that we have ordered it (the pretrial decision to be followed up). “Just follow what the judge wants,” said Alex.
Alex said that criminal acts in the form of bribery and gratification transactions between Helmut and Eddy did not disappear even though both of them won the pretrial. The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) believes that the evidence it has is sufficient to re-arrest the two people.
“In our opinion, the evidence is sufficient,” said Alex.
The Corruption Eradication Commission admitted that it had received a lot of criticism regarding the firm handling of the case involving Eddy Hiariej. One of them comes from Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW). Anti-corruption institutions see this criticism as support for the handling of cases of suspected bribery and gratification at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. (Z-11)
