Final preparations are underway in Britain for the coronation of Charles III. Traditional robes and royal jewels have begun arriving at Westminster Abbey for the coronation ceremony, which will take place after 70 years. The coronation ceremony is on May 6.

70 years after Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953, Britain will witness another coronation. The ceremonies will be infused with ingredients of tradition and innovation. With the coronation, King Charles will assume official duties and become the ruler of the royal family’s assets. Camilla will change from queen consort to queen. St. Edward’s Crown made in 1661, the Imperial State Crown full of 2868 diamonds, a scepter with a cross, a twelfth-century anointing spoon, and a coronation ring made in 1831 have been prepared in Westminster Abbey, where the ceremony will take place. The ceremony will be officiated by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. For the first time in history, a female bishop in the Church of England will become a co-ordinator. UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will read the Bible. The religious ceremonies are on the theme of call to service. Unlike usual, there will be an opportunity to offer greetings to other religious leaders. Rehearsals for the May 6 ceremony are in progress at the Abbey. A training ceremony was held for the Air Forces from the Commonwealth countries.

Buckingham Palace has sent out invitations to 2,000 guests at the coronation. Political, cultural, sports and entertainment personalities of various countries will be a part of the ceremonies including coronation.
