Its proponents regard Nuvaxovid as a dead vaccine – which is not entirely accurate. For example, a vaccine that does not form any viruses capable of replication is considered an inactivated vaccine. However, this applies to all previously approved corona vaccines, including Biontech and Moderna. The crucial difference is much more that with Nuvaxovid the body does not produce the spike protein itself.
Many researchers find it difficult to scientifically understand the concerns regarding previous vaccines. Ultimately, that doesn’t matter, says one of the scientists: “If someone wants to be immunized with the inactivated vaccine for whatever reason, that’s definitely a good option for the future.”
