The other day, the existence of LGA2551Moore’s Law Is DeadReported by, but this information is incorrect,Information has come out that the CPU socket for the 14th generation Core 14000 series (codename: Meteor Lake) and the 15th generation Core 15000 series (codename: Arrow Lake) will be LGA1851.Chinese-speaking media Bench Life reported.

There is no socket called LGA2551 reported by Moore’s Law Is Dead. The number 2551 itself is included in Intel’s product plans, but it’s not an LGA for desktop PCs. Probably for BGA used for mobile.

and,LGA1851 is used for the sockets of Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake.

Socket LGA1851
Socket LGA1851

The size is 37.5mm x 45mm, which is the same as the existing LGA1700. This means that you can use the LGA1700 compatible CPU cooler as it is.

According to BenchLife, Meteor Lake and Arrow Lake sockets will be LGA1851.

I’m not sure which is correct, Bench Life or Moore’s Law Is Dead, but the former is probably the correct one. The LGA2551 has so many pins that BenchLife’s LGA1851 is more appealing.
