The Córdoba Book Fair 2023 brought together 480 thousand attendees and raised more than $104 million in copies sold

After 12 days full of diverse proposals and activitiesthe 2023 edition of the Córdoba Book Fair It ended. According to statistics collected by the Ministry of Culture of the Municipalitythe event was attended by a total of 480 thousand peoplemore than 420 activities and they sold 20,822 books for a total of $104.727.900, with an average value of $4,511 each.

Under the motto “Citizenship and Democracy” The fair included more than 80 stands of independent bookstores and publishersproposals from 20 popular libraries, and some 800 authors, authors and local cultural references.

“The Fair reaffirmed its identity as a great federal cultural event, a meeting space, where plurality, exchange, and reflection were part of an integrative experience, which allows us to think once more as a society,” the secretariat expressed.

The organization of the event was in charge of the Secretary of Culture of the Municipality of Córdoba, together with the National University of Córdoba (UNC)the Córdoba Culture Agency of the Province of Córdoba, CALIPACER, and SADE (Sec. Cba.).

On the other hand, the daily average of activities per day was 35including talks, workshops, book presentations, debates, interventions, poetic concerts, plays, performances, musical shows, exhibitions and the participation of local, national and international artists and authors. Of the total activities, emphasis was placed on programming related to environment, new technologies, inclusion, diversities and human rights.

Thus, the Fair had its programming in more than 40 points of the City. It took place in the Intendencia Superblock, contemplating the Plaza de la Intendencia, Paseo Sobremonte and surrounding areas, the Cabildo de Córdoba, the Teatro Comedia, the Metropolitan Museum of Urban Art (Plaza España), among other spaces.
