Kev Adams and two production companies are at the heart of a scam story, as reported by our colleagues at RMC. In question, a 100% French animated film called “Plush”, the particularity of which lay in its method of financing. According to the actor’s promises, donations via NFTs and cryptocurrencies sold for 1,250 euros each, were to be used to produce the film.
In return, investors were supposed to receive around 80% of the profits generated by the film’s revenues. Except that this film never saw the light of day.
Kev Adams responds to the controversy targeting him: “I am not the mastermind of any scam”
Obviously, the potential gains were significant, and potential investors thought they had the right idea. 770 people spent a total of 1.5 million euros for nothing. 19 of them decided to file a complaint for breach of trust, deceptive commercial practice and concealment with the Marseille court.
Kev Adams and the two production companies, Rooftop Production and Illuminart Calligraphers and Painters FZCO, still deny the false promises. But according to investor Fabien Tref, the man behind the project, the film might still come out of the box…
