The National Coordination of Teachers and Support Staff who were forced to sign contracts called on the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports,
By “returning all the money stolen from the salaries of teachers and support staff who exercised their universal right to strike.”
The coordination committee condemned, in a statement, “the continued detention of the suspended professors,” demanding “an urgent settlement of their administrative and financial situation, in addition to settling the financial situation of all the appellants.” It also condemned the unjust penalties once morest all the suspended professors, demanding that they be immediately withdrawn from their files.
Regarding the demand for which this coordination was established, which is to drop the contracting plan and integrate into the civil service, the statement stated that the new basic system, some of whose articles were amended by the supervising ministry, “does not respond to the demand for integration into the civil service, which threatens to deprive more than 120,000 male and female teachers and specialized personnel of their fair and legitimate right.”
The coordination considered that “the ministry broke its promises to destroy the rights of educational workers, as it issued in the decision to organize the next school year what clearly contradicts what is included in its new “incentive” system in Articles 10 and 71 regarding considering the educational and social specialist framework within the education authority, while enabling them to benefit from their annual vacation like the rest of the frameworks belonging to the same authority.”
The same source accused the ministry of “tweeting outside the laws” by “making these two cadres part of the educational administration and management body, in terms of indicating that they are required to complete operations related to the end of the school year that are not included in their duties at all,” while “Article 5 of the aforementioned system explicitly states that employees cannot be obligated to perform tasks other than those assigned to them in accordance with the applicable legislative and regulatory texts.”
In another context, the coordination warned that the Moroccan government had “begun to deploy its destructive arsenal by criminalizing strikes and sabotaging the retirement fund,” calling on workers to “unite and unite to stop the unpopular backlash once morest the right to strike.”
At the end of its statement, the National Coordination of Teachers and Support Staff who were forced to sign contracts renewed its emphasis on “continuing the principled struggle in understanding and practice, in defense of the school and the public service, until the contracting plan is dropped and integration into the public service cadres in centralized financial positions is completed.”
