Asunción, IP Agency.- The construction of Lot 1 of the Puerto Indio – Empalme Supercarretera route, in Alto Paraná, registers significant progress in various sectors, according to the report from the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).
The works include embankment treatment, development of subgrade layers, stabilized and primed base, and construction of bridges in different sections.
In the first section, from the beginning to kilometer 1.7, embankment treatment works are carried out, while the subgrade layers are developed until kilometer 4. Between kilometers 4 and 7, the stabilized and primed base is being carried out, and in the sector from kilometers 7.5 to 8.1, the causeway work continues.
The work shows significant progress with the primed base completed from kilometer 8.2 to 12. In the subsequent kilometers up to 13, work is being done on the 60% CBR subgrade. At kilometer 15, the works concentrate on the bridge with the concrete loading of Abutment 1, while on bridge 3 progress is made on the foundation of abutment 1.
Complementary works
The works also include the concreting of 1×1 culvert headers at kilometer 13.7, 1 meter tubular sewer at kilometer 14.1 and concreting of 2.5 x 2.5 cellular culvert headers at kilometer 19.9.
A 60 kilometer project
The total project includes the improvement of 60.3 kilometers and is executed through a Highway Construction and Maintenance Contract by Service Levels (CCOMA). Lot 1, which runs from kilometer 0 to 27, is in charge of Benito Roggio e Hijos SA, with supervision by the Grimaux – Electroconsult Consortium. Lot 2, from kilometer 27 to 60.3, is executed by LT SA under the supervision of the TYPSA – AII Consortium.
