It is planned to build a separate extension to the new Pilaitė nursery-kindergarten building, where a swimming pool will be installed.
“We understand the problems of preschool education institutions in Pilaite, so we will continue to consistently invest in infrastructure development. This kindergarten will be an excellent example of a modern preschool educational institution – the swimming pool in it will encourage children to lead an active lifestyle from an early age. The public spaces that will appear next to the kindergarten will be adapted to the needs of the community,” says Vilnius Mayor Valdas Benkunskas.
The new nursery-kindergarten will be two-story, U-shaped, and the total area of the building will occupy about 3.5 thousand square meters. sq. m. On the first floor of the educational institution, there are kitchens, laundry rooms with direct access from the outside, as well as a caretaker’s room, a farm workshop, a sports/assembly hall and auxiliary rooms. The sports/assembly hall is designed to provide direct access to the outdoors and can host a variety of events both indoors and outdoors during the warm season.
It is planned that each group’s block will consist of a changing area with lockers, a kitchenette, a sanitary unit and group play/sleeping areas. The new kindergarten will also be adapted for the disabled, it is planned to install an elevator, which will allow access to the second floor of the building.
“A modern and up-to-date nursery school – a kindergarten for little Vilnius residents closer to home – we strive for this by actively creating new places for kindergarten children. We are happy to begin the construction of the new kindergarten-nursery by burying the capsule – a symbol of the connected time and history. He is a reminder that everything we do is not just a task for today. It is the effort, knowledge and focus of all of us for the sake of the future.

The kindergarten will be built in one stage: the building will be installed, the plot will be arranged, and the swimming pool will be equipped with all the necessary equipment. The prepared project includes squares, small architectural elements, and a public children’s play area is planned next to the existing sports field.
