« The Constitutional Council has the option of saying you have lost ten days of campaigning, you will resume the campaign the rest of the time and we organize the election on February 25. He can also say: I am slightly rearranging the calendar”, he begins. “ Instead of the election taking place on February 25, we postpone it, for example, until March 10 for the first round”evokes Professor Babacar Gueye.

« For the second round, we are trying to shorten the duration of the campaign and we are organizing the election in such a way that we have a new president before April 2. It all depends on the Constitutional Council », he adds. “ We must not forget that the council is not a political jurisdiction, it is a regulatory body, it can regulate beyond applying the law. Maintaining the date of 25 (February) would result in strictly applying the law “, he emphasizes.
