Former US President Donald Trump responded to a hint Russian President Vladimir Putin For his willingness to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine, saying that the conflict should never have occurred and that it might lead to a world war.
Trump said on his Truth Social that the conflict would not have started had he been in the Oval Office.
“But as I’ve made very clear for some time, it can now end in World War III,” he continued.

Earlier on Wednesday, in a speech to the Russian people, Putin announced that he had called up regarding 300,000 reservists to provide reinforcements in Ukraine, where his army has recently been suffering setbacks.
The Russian president accused Western countries of “nuclear blackmail” and threatened to use Russian nuclear weapons. “This is not a hoax,” he said.
“Those who try to blackmail us with nuclear weapons should know that the atmospheric winds can turn towards them,” Putin said.
The Russian president has made repeated threats regarding the use of nuclear weapons since the start of the massive attack on Ukraine in February.
In response to Putin’s comments, White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told ABC’s “Good Morning America” program that the United States takes Putin’s threat seriously.
Ukraine regained control of thousands of square kilometers of its territory as part of a counterattack this month.
