The Completion of the First Segment of the E411/N4 Cyclostrade: Traveling Securely from Wavre to Louvain-la-Neuve by Bike

Beautiful, clear, and secure bike trails are great for promoting cycling. A permit application has been submitted to create the first part of cyclostrade along the E411 and National 4, which will stretch for regarding four kilometers between Wavre and Louvain-la-Neuve. A public inquiry has been launched to inform the locals and allow them to express their views. The section will start from rue du Manil near Walibi and finish at rue de la Flèche in Louvain-la-Neuve. The trail will first follow the highway, which will require a footbridge and an access ramp, before climbing up to the Wavre fire station on the N4. The GRACQ is pleased regarding the excellent news, as they were consulted regarding this project in 2019.

To stimulate the practice of cycling, there is nothing like beautiful, clear and secure trails. Between Wavre and Louvain-la-Neuve, this will normally soon be the case. This section will stretch for regarding four kilometres. It will start from rue du Manil, near the Walibi, and end at rue de la Flèche, in Louvain-la-Neuve. It will first run along the motorway (which will require the construction of a footbridge and an access ramp) and then climb up the N4 up to the Wavre fire station.

“We were already consulted in 2019, if I remember correctly, regarding the cyclostrade, explains Nicolas Selfslagh, technical adviser to the GRACQ (Research and Action Group of Daily Journalists). We now see that the funding is secure and that the planning permission has been filed for one of the sections. And so for the GRACQ, this is excellent news.”

The four-kilometre route promises to be beautiful, clear, and secure, making it the perfect destination for a refreshing cycling experience. The public inquiry launched in the two municipalities is an excellent opportunity for people to learn more and share their thoughts regarding this fantastic initiative.
