The warranty system which extends if you carry out maintenance in the network already exists. Toyota, for example, offers its hybrid customers a battery check-up at regular intervals to extend the HSD system warranty for up to ten years. A way of building customer loyalty by handing them the “carrot”. Dacia is in turn launching the “free” warranty extension, but if the quotation marks are appropriate, it is because to benefit from it, certain conditions must be met. Explanations.

Initially, the only constraint is to have a Dacia purchased new or used and not more than 6 years old or 120,000 km (and at least 2 years old, the new Duster is therefore not eligible). But to this, Dacia adds an important condition: the maintenance must have been carried out “according to the manufacturer’s recommendations”, within the Dacia network, or outside. Obviously, this term remains open to interpretation and we know that sometimes, dealers and after-sales services are reluctant to take charge of guarantees on the grounds that the mechanic who took charge of the vehicle has not necessarily complied with all the prerequisites. This is often at the discretion of the point of sale, on a case-by-case basis.
In the conditions, Dacia specifies that if the maintenance was carried out outside the network, it will then be necessary to provide detailed invoices for the maintenance with the brand of lubricants registered, the brand and the reference of the parts replaced.

The particularity of Dacia’s Zen offer is that it applies to both Dacias purchased new and Dacias purchased second-hand. Taxis, VTC, short-term rental companies and public services are unsurprisingly excluded from the offer. But for individuals, it will then be enough to carry out its maintenance in the Dacia network to see its warranty extended one year after each service, up to 7 years. Please note, this warranty does not cover the defrosting network, electric mirrors and… multimedia.
Furthermore, the Zen offer only applies if you opt for the Essential and Essential+ revisions. The cheapest “Eco” is therefore not part of the program. This is obviously a way for Dacia to win back after-sales customers and direct them towards the most expensive packages, even if Dacia unsurprisingly remains one of the cheapest brands for maintenance.
If you meet all of these conditions, the Dacia Zen warranty is therefore activated for one year or 30,000 km, whichever comes first.
