Unveiled via a concept car in 2017the Volkswagen ID Buzz has been relatively quiet ever since. Nevertheless, this electrical project aroused real interest. Today, the project is very real and presents itself to us before its marketing scheduled for September.
Volkswagen ID Buzz: for the hippies of 2022?
The Combi (T1 and T2) is a real automotive institution. It represents a unique lifestyle and is often associated with the image of “Peace & Love” from the 60s and 70s. Always popular, this vehicle made its electric revolution with the T7 which is now called « ID Buzz ». Presented this week, the final vehicle will arrive next September for a less “cool” price of €60,000! Inevitably, with such a price, this electric Combi will be a little less popular. Nevertheless, Volkswagen is betting a lot on it. Its electric utility will be available in “Monospace” and “Cargo” versions.
With its neo-retro design, it surfs on current fashion but nevertheless offers a very pretty look. In the engine, there is a 77 kWh battery developing 204 hp! The maximum speed is however limited to 145 km/h in order to maximize autonomy (announced at 450 km). With 1,160 liters of capacity at the rear, this ID Buzz will clearly satisfy those who want to travel electric.
