Some pioneers of social networking sites in Egypt still insist on linking scenes from the city of Alexandria with the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

During the past hours, pictures of the Alexandrian sea and its waters tended to be black have spread, amid the insistence of a number of Egyptians to link the cause to the earthquake in Turkey, although it is a familiar scene for the residents of the coastal city when the “nuclei” occurs.

The residents of Alexandria do not know the reasons for the connection between the nuclear core and the change in the color of the sea water, but they know that it is an accompanying scene, which is what made them ridicule the link between the color change and the earthquake.

While Egyptian officials made it clear, through statements to local media, that what Alexandria is witnessing has nothing to do with the earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria, but the bad weather in Alexandria and the accumulation of black cumulus clouds in its sky due to the nucleus of generosity, and the high waves is the reason for what the city is witnessing.

The nucleus is a climatic phenomenon in which strong winds occur, which provokes sea turbulence, and causes its sand to stir, so it moves from the bottom and becomes suspended in the water, which affects the water’s permeability to light, so the viewer feels that the color of the water is black.

It is noteworthy that the Alexandria Corniche witnessed a landslide near the “Edward Kharrat” beach, and a longitudinal crack occurred in the pavement, estimated at 20 meters, as a result of the intensity of the waves in some areas.
