The collapse caused a large amount of flying dust, which the Ministries of Environment and Health in Lebanon had warned of earlier, as they published instructions to deal with it for residents up to 1500 meters from the port, due to the possibility of fungi in the dust as a result of rotting grains in the silos since the port explosion and ignition. The continuous fire in it due to environmental factors and the emission of flammable gases.
The southern part of the silos remained unaffected, as the government is looking to preserve and restore it in response to the demands of the families of the victims of the explosion in order to remain an expression of the extent of the damage caused to the port as a result of the explosion.
Yesterday, part of the northern silos fell, and previous parts of the silos collapsed over the past two months.
