The Coachella Music Festival is back after a three-year hiatus

The famous Coachella Music Festival in California kicked off after stopping since 2019 due to the Corona pandemic, in the absence of any health restrictions, and instead of wearing masks, the attendees decorated their heads with wreaths.

The audience interacted enthusiastically with the Brazilian singer Anita, who opened the celebration, followed by the appearances of Snoop Dogg, who performed the song “Mas Que Nada” alongside her, and rapper Sawety and British Harry Styles.

Hundreds of thousands attended

Anita was ranked first in the ranking of the most popular songs on the Spotify platform with her song “Involver”, thus becoming the first Brazilian to reach first place on the platform.

Despite the rise in coronavirus infections in the United States, hundreds of thousands of people are expected to attend Indio, California, for a massive two-week event that will take place in the last three days of each.

Notable participating artists

Among the most prominent stars participating in this year’s festival are the British Harry Styles, the American Billie Eilish, the Canadian The Weeknd and the Swedish House Mafia band.

Among the most prominent names participating in this year’s Coachella Festival are rap artists Megan the Stallion and Doga Cat, singer Phoebe Bridgers, French band L’Beratrice, singer Stromae and Palestinian DJs Sama Abdel Hadi and Black Coffee from South Africa.

Allocate centers for corona examinations

The festival has not been held since 2019, as the organizers were forced to cancel the 2020 festival after initially postponing it to the fall, as it also happened with the 2021 edition due to the pandemic.

The organizers announced that they would not ask the participants for proof confirming that they had received the vaccine, and would not impose the wearing of masks, or even social distancing.

The festival is usually held in the open air, and receives about 125,000 spectators daily from all over the country and abroad, and a large number of them descend on tents they set up or inside nearby hotels.

There will be two sites that allow corona examinations to be conducted. Jose Arbalo, a spokesman for the local health authorities, indicated that additional sites will be provided for testing for the Corona virus.
