After Cyriaque Mvourandjiami, former all-powerful Chief of Staff of Ali Bongo, and Gisèle Mombo, mother-in-law of Ian Ghislain Ngoulou, former all-powerful Chief of Staff of Noureddin Bongo Valentin, on February 13, Steeve Nzegho Dieko and Abdul Oceni Ossa , were in turn, interviewed on Friday February 16, 2024, by commissioners who are members of the National Commission for the Fight once morest Corruption and Illicit Enrichment (CNLCEI), for suspicion of corruption and misappropriation of public funds.
Placed under house arrest, Steeve Nzegho Dieko, Secretary General of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG), in power before the coup d’état or “liberation coup” of August 30, 2023, is under the influence of justice.
In preventive detention since September 2023, Abdul Oceni Ossa was taken from Libreville central prison to be interviewed. Just like his brother, Mohamed Ali Saliou (powerful deputy chief of staff of Ali Bongo) also at the guf, Abdul Oceni Ossa is being prosecuted for massive embezzlement of public funds, active corruption, drug trafficking, and criminal conspiracy.
Cyriaque Mvourandjiami, Ian Ghislain Ngoulou, Noureddin Bongo Valentin, Jessye Ella Ekogha (presidential spokesperson), Gisèle Mombo and Sylvia Bongo Ondimba, former first lady of Gabon, are also in prison for the same facts.
Far from being a criminal jurisdiction, the National Commission for the Fight once morest Corruption and Illicit Enrichment, in its investigative mission, conducts investigations in order to gather evidence on which the Public Prosecutor’s Office might rely to take possible legal action.
