Moroccan-born Dutch footballer Anwar al-Ghazi, after being kicked out of his former club for supporting Palestine, has won a case for damages and has announced that he will donate five million euros to the children of Gaza.
This donation is one-third of the amount which Israel Hamas in conflict The Palestinians Club Mines is getting compensation from Zero Five for terminating his contract for supporting .
According to Reuters, the Dutch player was suspended by the club in October over a social media post in support of the Palestinians, and his contract was terminated the following month.
A German court ruled last month that his contract was wrongfully terminated.
Ghazi, who signed with Championship side Cardiff City this month, had a contract with Miners until 2025.
In the Labor Court’s decision, Mines was ordered to pay the last nine months’ salary, totaling 1.7 million euros.
Al-Ghazi told the Athletic newspaper that “he has received the amount of 1.5 million euros sent by Mines regarding his dismissal.”
“Mines has complied with the court order and has paid, but will file an appeal against the decision after receiving the written reasons for the decision,” a club representative told Reuters on Saturday.
Al-Ghazi wrote on social media on Friday: ‘I want to thank Mines for two things at this time. First of all for the huge financial payout, five million of which will be used for projects for the children of Gaza.

According to Israeli authorities, last year, Hamas fighters attacked Israeli territories on October 7, killing about 1,200 people and taking about 250 people prisoner.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 40,000 people, including women and children, have been killed in the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7.
