Tom Cruise has made helicopters available to fly the cast and crew of his latest action film to the location where scenes were to be filmed. All because of the closure of the M25 motorway, which has wreaked havoc – more on ordinary people than on the movie star.
A five-mile stretch of the motorway in Surrey has been closed in both directions as part of a planned closure, to allow for the demolition of a bridge and the placement of new infrastructure. An operation that involves an investment of 317 million pounds. Motorists have been warned not to travel, to avoid chaos on the surrounding road network over the weekend. Queues of up to five hours were expected.
Cruise, 61, is filming his eighth Mission Impossible film near the affected stretch of road, between intersections 10 and 11, a stretch that was closed at 9pm on Friday night and will remain closed until Monday. The star is reportedly using a helipad in Battersea, south-west London, to fly the cast and crew of Mission: Impossible 8 to Longcross Studios in Surrey.
“The closure of the M25 is a problem for most people, but not for Tom,” a source told The Sun.
“Film staff or stars who are needed for filming have been informed that if they cannot get to Longcross due to the closure of the M25, they will be flown in by helicopter. It’s a feat straight out of one of Tom’s films.”
