The modernization of the Glaukos stadium in Krya Iteon is undertaken by the Region of Western Greece.
The details of the cooperation were determined in a working meeting led by the Regional Governor of Western Greece, Nektarios Farmakis, while the signing of a program contract by the Deputy Regional Governor for Infrastructure, Vassilis Giannopoulos, with the President of the Union, Konstantinos Marlafekas, in the presence of the General Chief, George Rokanas, followed.
With the interventions that will be implemented, a modern sports venue will be formed, capable of hosting international sports events, pan-Hellenic development championships, cultural events, matches of the National categories and local championships. At the same time, it will cover the needs of the Basketball Academy, where around 300 sportsmen and women train.
This is the project entitled “Modernization of the Sports Association of Glaukos – Esperos Patras (AEGEP) stadium in Krya Iteon”, with a budget of 74,400 euros, with guaranteed funding from the National Development Program, in the context of which the roof covering will be replaced with thermal insulation panels and creating better conditions for athletes and spectators. The lighting bodies will also be replaced with new LED technology, while the wooden parquet of the playing field will be repaired, improving the safety of the athletes.
