The 5th edition of the Salon de l’Escalade takes place on January 11 and 12 in pavilion 5.1 at Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles. Numerous activities, demonstrations and initiations are planned.
The Escalade Show is intended to be much more than a simple grouping of stands. “It assertively takes up the codes of a Festival dedicated to all forms of Verticality, to provide its visitors with breathtaking experiences » specifies a press release.
Aimed at young and old, beginners and experts alike, for two days it is the place for all discoveries: products and services, practice spots, demonstrations, initiations, competitions, events, meetings…
New, the Verticality Trophies
This first in Paris, after Lyon and Grenoble, will also see the implementation of Verticality Trophies. This highlight aims to promote projects and people who actively work to develop climbing through five distinct categories : ecological initiative, content creation, inclusion, security, and innovation.
Climbing, learning, testing, meeting, exchanging remain the prerogatives of the organization. For families, several artificial walls will be erected. For the well-being of body and mind, a specific area will be dedicated to physical and mental preparation, warm-up, recovery…in the presence of experts from each field. For hunters of good deals on equipment, equipment at a “special Salon rate” will be offered. To develop your culture, different exhibitionsphotos in particular, will be highlighted. Moreover stars of the discipline will come and sign their works. Throughout these two days, 20 conferences are scheduled, and four ephemeral bookstores will be accessible.
The presence of urban climber Alain Robert
In addition, accompanied stays and internships by guides and climbing instructors will allow visitors to plan their next vertical trip, whether to discover and/or improve their skills. Furthermore a thematic stand will be dedicated to Fontainebleau and its famous blocks.
For this first in the capital, Oriane Bertonemember of the French climbing team and finalist in the combined bouldering/difficulty event at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and Alain Robert, urban climber and cliff climber, true legend and solo icon, will be the two great ambassadors of this 5th Edition.
In total some 200 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors are expected next January.
