Madrid, Jul 19 (EFE).- The Civil Guard will provide more than 140 officers to the security measures deployed by French authorities for the Olympic Games, starting July 26, and the Paralympic Games, starting September 8, which will be held in Paris.
The troops of the armed institute are joining these days in their different destinations, such as Paris, Nice, Saint-Étienne, Marseille, Lyon, Villeneuve d’Ascq, Bordeaux, Nantes, Versailles, Melun, Chateaouroux, Chambord, Hossegor, Mimizan , Hendaye, Biscarrosse and Roissy.
Among those sent to France are specialists from the Citizen Security units, Pegasus Team, Canine Service, Traffic, Fiscal and Borders Group, Tedax and Cavalry, the General Directorate of the Civil Guard has reported.
The Civil Guard, in addition to forces from other countries, will participate in the operation alongside the French National Gendarmerie, with whom they have been patrolling jointly for years and receiving joint training.
Among their duties, the agents of the armed institute have to help and assist in any incident to the attendees of the Olympic Games, especially the Spanish for language reasons.
