The CISSS de Lanaudière begins administering the 2nd booster dose

The Management of the Lanaudière Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) has unveiled the terms and conditions for the administration of the 2nd booster dose of the vaccine once morest COVID-19 among the part of the population concerned.

The 4th dose of the vaccine is administered in living environments with a high proportion of elderly and vulnerable people. It is also available for people aged 80 and over living in a community. Finally, immunocompromised young people aged 12 and over are also called upon to come and be vaccinated.

This new dose is intended to protect people whose health conditions put them at greater risk of complications if they contract the virus. It also occurs in a context where cases of contagion are increasing in Quebec due to the presence of the BA.2 variant.

The CISSS de Lanaudière mentions that vaccination in CHSLDs, intermediate resources (IR) and private seniors’ residences (RPA) will be carried out in collaboration with the mobile teams as well as the staff present in the accommodation settings.

However, people aged 80 and over as well as immunocompromised people living in the community will be able to receive the 4th dose at one of the vaccination sites. Currently, the Lanaudière region has three vaccination sites open all week.
