The chilling transformation of Candela Peña into Rosario Porto in the trailer of the Netflix series

We all know the story. We lived it live in 2013. Then we saw the documentary that Bambú made for Antena 3. And now the same production company recreates it from fiction ‘The Asunta case’, with Candela Peña carrying out a chilling transformation in Rosario Porto, the mother who murdered her daughter, Asunta Basterra. We have a first look in the trailer that Netflix has published:

‘The Asunta case’ will arrive on the platform on April 26. Six episodes in which the creators Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, Jon de la Cuesta and David Orea will tell us the story that we all know, but more closely than ever.

Peña will play Rosario Porto and Tristán Ulloa will play Alfonso Basterra, parents of the murdered girl. They lead a cast full of familiar faces such as Javier Gutiérrez, who plays the judge responsible for the case, or María León and Carlos Blanco, the detectives who will investigate the murder and those responsible. Carlos Sedes and Jacobo Martínez are in charge of directing.

It is a project that suits Bambú like a glove: the producer known for television hits such as ‘Velvet’ or ‘The Cable Girls’ is a Galician company that made perhaps its best series when it decided to adapt ‘Fariña’ with all the detail, care and Galician flavor it deserved.. We can expect the same treatment in ‘The Asunta Case’, a tragic story that occurred in Santiago de Compostela. In addition, the same production company was in charge of the documentary broadcast on Antena 3 in 2017, so they know the story better than anyone.
