Around 4:30 p.m. this Friday, smoke was detected in a false ceiling in the pediatric department at the CHC MontLégia Clinic. This triggered the fire alarm. The internal security service “intervened directly even before the arrival of the firefighters”, explains the CHC in a Facebook post.
A peaceful intervention. “This release of smoke was observed in the airlock of a positive pressure room (also called a sterile room). The room was fortunately not occupied, ”said the press release. To ensure patient safety, patients were calmly evacuated to neighboring pediatric units during the operation.
If the firefighters who arrived on the spot made sure that everything was in order, that the service was secure and raised the alert, the children will not find their room immediately. They will have to wait until this evening following a reorganization of the unit.
