According to the Afric Intelligence website, it seems “that the American fast-food chain KFC, whose franchise in the Maghreb and the Middle East is managed by the Lebanese group Azadea, is putting the finishing touches to its first restaurant in Algiers, whose opening is scheduled for January 2023.

Moreover, according to the same source, the plan of the American giant KFC to establish itself on the Algerian market, would already be to associate with several local producers. The Cevital group was approached in April 2022 by KFC to help it set up in the country, following conclusive tests carried out by KFC France with the oil produced by Cevital.
KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) is part of the Yum! Brands, restaurant leader across the planet (39,000 units in 125 different countries with brands like Taco Bell and Pizza Hut). The chicken brand is already established in 110 countries, it has opened 16,000 restaurants and nearly 80% of the 18,000 KFC restaurants are managed under franchise.
