Following the Seltos crossover, the Korean automobile giant Kia is ready to update another model in its SUV line. This time, the most compact and, accordingly, the most affordable SUV of the brand, the Sonet, should undergo modernization. The day before, the first photos of the interior of the reformed crossover appeared on the Internet.
In the posted pictures you can roughly understand how the interior decoration of the Sonnet will change.
The first thing you’ll notice is the new 2-tone beige and black upholstery, a fully digital instrument cluster and an updated climate control module. However, the overall design of the front panel seems to remain unchanged.
The prototype filmed on test also features rear air vents, an armrest with cup holders for gallery passengers, and built-in sunshades.
As for the exterior, with the upgrade, the Kia Sonet can receive a new grille, redesigned optics, a modified bumper, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, as well as other rear lights that have increased in size and a panoramic sunroof.
No changes are expected under the hood. The car will continue to be sold in the markets of developing countries with the same range of engines as before: a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 83 horsepower, a liter turbo engine with 120 horsepower, and a 1.5-liter turbodiesel with 115 horsepower.
There will be five transmissions to choose from – a 6-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed automatic transmission, as well as a 5-speed manual transmission, a 6-speed automated manual transmission iMT plus a 7-speed DCT robot.
The premiere of the car should take place before the end of the year.
