Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Mónica Recalde, will represent Paraguay at the meetings of the Working Group on Employment and at the meeting of Ministers of Labor and Employment, within the framework of the Brazilian presidency of the G20. These meetings are taking place in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil.
The G20 Jobs Task Force is responsible for addressing the biggest and most pressing challenges facing the world of work today and in the future.
During Brazil’s presidency, discussions will focus on crucial issues such as the creation of quality jobs, the promotion of decent work to ensure social inclusion and the fight against poverty.
The need for a fair transition in the face of digital and energy transformations will also be addressed, and how technologies can improve the quality of life for everyone will be explored. Gender equality and the promotion of diversity in the world of work will also be priority topics.
These priority areas are highly relevant in the current scenario, as they directly influence the socio-economic dynamics of the G20 countries and the world as a whole. The Group of 20 (G20) is the main forum for international economic cooperation, made up of the 20 largest economies in the world.
Prior to the meeting of the Ministers of Labor, an event entitled “Together, let’s close the gender pay gap” is scheduled for this Wednesday, July 24.
This event is organized in partnership with the Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC), made up of the International Labour Organization (ILO), UN-Women and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
In addition, it will feature leading experts and leaders who will share knowledge and experiences on best practices and the most effective policies to achieve equal pay in the world of work.
During her participation, Minister Recalde will make two specific interventions at the leadership forum for a fair transition of the invited labor ministers.
The first intervention is related to the creation of quality jobs and the promotion of decent work to ensure social inclusion and eliminate poverty and hunger. The second intervention focuses on gender equality and the promotion of diversity in the world of work.
Minister Recalde’s participation in these international forums underlines Paraguay’s commitment to implementing labour policies that promote sustainable development and social equity.
These meetings offer a platform to share experiences and collaborate in creating effective solutions to common challenges in the world of work. The Minister’s presence in Fortaleza will also allow for strengthening ties with other G20 member countries and advancing international cooperation on labour issues.
