the CGSP calls for a rally for the loss of their colleague

Last Thursday, October 27, a 23-year-old woman was found stabbed at her home in Brussels. The lifeless body that is found is that of Teresa Rodríguez, a nurse from Valladolid in Spain. A suspect is immediately arrested, it is her ex-companion, who has come to the capital to bring her back. Teresa’s refusal angered him and he stabbed her before attempting suicide. He was then taken to hospital before being arrested and deprived of his freedom.

A week later, the regional management of the CGSP (Central General of Public Services) decided to give an echo to this appalling murder. “One of our colleagues, Teresa, a nurse at the Jules Bordet Institute, lost her life. She was killed by her ex-boyfriend. One more femicide, one more femicide. The 19th of the year 2022 in Belgium. While November 25 is the day for the fight once morest violence once morest women, this tragedy reminds us that the fight once morest violence is not won, “said the press release.

This is why, in tribute to Teresa and in solidarity with her family, the CGSP is organizing several gatherings this Thursday, November 3 “in order to show our respect for our colleague who disappeared under sexist blows”. These three places were not chosen by chance: the Institut Bordet, the CHU Brugmann and the CHU Saint-Pierre, all scheduled from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.

This feminicide was the second in less than a month following the one in Saint-Giles on October 12.
