Today, Monday, the Central Bank of Iraq stressed the importance of exchanging experiences in the field of electronic payment with India.

And the Central Bank stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that “the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb Makhaif, received the Indian Ambassador to Iraq, Prashant Bisai, and during the meeting, they discussed strengthening bilateral relations, especially economic between the two countries, and providing banking services to the Iraqi community present there for the purpose of Treatment, study, trade, etc., as well as the exchange of banking expertise.

He added, “The efforts of the Central Bank of Iraq focus on strengthening its relations with its counterparts in various countries, and global financial and banking institutions, in a way that serves the interest of the Iraqi banking sector.”

The governor stressed “the importance of achieving the exchange of experiences in terms of electronic payment and banking technologies between the two countries in particular,” explaining that “India is an advanced country in this field.”

He pointed to the “development initiatives that achieved success following their launch.”
