The Central Bank of the Russian Federation allowed individuals and banks to exchange currency at the expense of third-party sources. RBC writes regarding this, citing a source in the Bank of Russia.
“Russian banks will be able to exchange currency for individuals using funds received from various sources following the time period. Other sources of currency can be, for example, funds received from transactions with non-resident banks, or funds received for crediting to accounts from Russian legal entities on the grounds provided for by currency legislation, ”RBC writes.
The Central Bank stressed that this measure will also increase the amount of cash dollars and euros on the Russian market. It is noted that previously banks might only use the currency received from individuals.
Earlier, the Central Bank eased restrictions on the purchase of currencies at the cash desks of Russian banks, writes RT. The Central Bank also allowed foreign banks sell currency in Russia.
