A TikTok user revealed that popular Canadian actress Nina Dobrev and her partner, professional American snowboarder Shaun White, spent nearly $4 million on their recent trip to Antarctica.
The Vampire Diaries stars Nina Dobrev and Shawn White have been together since April 2020 and the couple apparently visited Antarctica last month to celebrate the New Year and Nina’s birthday. He was accompanied on the trip by some famous faces including Zoey Davis, Jared Leto and Lewis Hamilton.
In his recent Tik Tok video ‘I’ve Been Traveling. A user with the handle ‘Ben’ discussed the travel and expenses incurred by these celebrities and how they disclosed the expenses.
The user shared an article from AutoEvolution, which claimed that the couple had rented a yacht in Antarctica for millions of dollars.
Ben also gave details of a boat called ‘The Octopus Superyacht’, which was allegedly chartered by the celebrities.
AutoEvolution reported that the superyacht was originally built for the late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and is reportedly worth more than $225 million.
The Octopus yacht is usually anchored off the coast of Chile at an island called King George, a TikTok user said.
The user also checked flight statistics from Los Angeles, where Dobrev and White live, to Punta Arenas in Chile, which showed that a ticket to fly from Los Angeles to the Chilean city costs about $3,500. Dollars and the couple spent seven thousand dollars for the trip.
Ben then cites an article published in the travel site ‘Sweep’ which states that a 10-day voyage between Punta Arenas and Antarctica typically costs $11,000 per ride.
Looking at a group photo of Nina Dobrev’s trip, which included 11 people, Ben multiplied that number by $11,000 to make the total cost of the trip $121,000.

According to luxury travel booking site ‘Yacht Charter Fleet’, the 12-passenger Octopus yacht has 13 cabins and can accommodate 42 crew members.
Some of the other amenities on the boat include a large aft swimming pool surrounded by loungers and a full cocktail bar, a cinema suite, two helicopters with hangars and a personal submarine with a capacity of eight people and two crew members.
A TikTok user looked at all the costs and estimated that the average cost of a private charter trip is $2.2 million per week.
He claimed that someone told him in a message that the actual cost was 25 percent higher than his estimate, so he added another five hundred thousand dollars to the total cost.
The user added $6,600 for the 30 percent tip the boat crew received and $88 for the matching hats worn by Dobrev and his 10 friends, which he said cost about $7 each. is
He explained how he added up all the figures to estimate the total cost of the trip to Antarctica at $3,488,088.
As of February 15, Ben’s video had nearly five million views, with many users mocking ‘Low Hard’ star Nina Dobrev and professional snowboarder Sean White for the expense.
One user joked: ‘So did these guys transfer $30,000 to each other from Venmo or something?’
Another user said: ‘Okay but Shaun White is an American treasure, let them spend their money.’
A third user wrote: ‘I’m torn between being rich and hating the rich.’
