The case of the most famous plastic surgeon and his associates will return to court again, after the Court of Appeal in Casablanca set the first session of the trial of the famous plastic surgeon Hassan Tazi and his associates, in the appeal phase, for tomorrow, Monday, September 2, 2024.
Hassan Tazi had previously left the walls of the Ain Sebaa local prison in Casablanca last May after the Casablanca Court of Appeal sentenced him to 3 years in prison, two years of which were served and one year suspended, and the felony of human trafficking was dropped, while he was being prosecuted for the misdemeanor of inducing others to make false statements.
On May 3, the court sentenced Dr. Hassan Tazi’s wife, Mounia Benchekroun, to 4 years in prison, while his brother, Abdel Razzaq Tazi, was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
As for Zainab B, who presented herself as a “philanthropist,” she was sentenced to 5 years in prison, and the remaining sentences ranged from 4 to 3 years in prison.
The details of this case go back to April 2022, when the case of plastic surgeon Hassan Al-Tazi, his family, and some employees of his clinic, “Al-Shifa,” exploded after the Public Prosecution accused him of crimes of human trafficking, fraud, forgery, and participation in collecting financial donations from donors for the purpose of settling medical costs for treating a needy humanitarian case.
