Offense not criminally recognized. This is the reason for the dismissal by the Bordeaux public prosecutor of the complaint filed on October 8, 2023 by a student riding a scooter and claiming to have been hit three days previously by Mayor Pierre Hurmic’s cardriven by its driver.

After the investigations carried out by the departmental security police officers who interviewed witnesses and the driver, there is no evidence to allow criminal proceedings to be initiated once morest the latter.

This classification without further action, confirmed by the public prosecutor at “Sud Ouest”, is however not a final decision. The complainant can still file a complaint with the establishment of a civil party with the dean of investigating judges.

A whiplash

In her complaint for unintentional injuries and hit-and-run addressed to the public prosecutor, the student indicated that, on Thursday October 5, she was returning from a physiotherapy course at the Caudéran clinic. Around 3:15 p.m., she was leaving the Public Garden on the handlebars of an electric scooter when she headed towards the cycle path light in order to cross the Cours de Verdun towards the Cours de Gourgue.

“The light was green,” she assures us, “so I crossed the road. At this time, I saw a black car driving forward. I thought she was going to stop because her light was red and she was driving slowly. So I continued to cross and then she accelerated and hit me, cutting me off. I hit the car on the door and the driver. »

The student specifies that the driver “rolled down his window and apologized”. The young woman, who said she was “in shock”, suffered a whiplash and was given a total incapacity to work for ten days.

“The driver offered to park but the young woman continued her route towards the Cours de Gourgue”, specified the mayor’s office when revealing the facts in the columns of “Sud Ouest”.

Informed this Monday, November 20 of the dismissal of the complaint, the town hall reports that “this decision corroborates the facts as they were presented by the City”.
