Stock Exchange (Casablanca) – The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed in negative territory on Friday, the index of all stocks, Masi dropping 0.30% to 13,950.06 points (pts).
The Morocco Stock Index (MSI 20), an index bringing together the 20 most liquid stocks, lost 0.25% to 1,135.98 pts and the Casablanca ESG 10, thematic index which calculates the performance of company prices. socially responsible, recorded a drop of 0.38% to 1,047.86 pts.
On the international side, the FTSE CSE Morocco 15, made up of the 15 main securities classified by market capitalization, as well as the FTSE CSE Morocco All-Liquid, a benchmark index which traces the performance of all liquid securities on the Stock Exchange, evolved at the down 0.11% to 12,972.27 pts and 0.23% to 11,716.43 pts respectively.
Sector-wise, 15 indices ended down, once morest 6 up, while the two remaining showed no change.
“Forestry and paper” posted the largest drop (-2.26%), due to the poor performance of its title Med Paper, followed by oil and gas which fell by 1.79% and the pharmaceutical industry (-1.73%).
On the other hand, the Leisure and hotels sector posted the biggest increase of the day (+2.66%), boosted by its single title Risma. In second place comes the engineering and industrial capital goods sector index (+0.93%), followed by that of the beverages sector (+0.67%) and transport services (0.42%).
For this session, the overall volume of trade stood at nearly 137.33 million dirhams (MDH), carried out entirely on the Central market. By value, Itissalat Al-Maghrib drained 24.08 MDH, Ciments du Maroc 17.64 MDH, Aradei Capital 11.36 MDH and BCP 8.6 MDH.
Market capitalization exceeded 723.45 billion dirhams (MMDH).
The biggest increases were posted by Stroc Industrie (+4.50% to 54.34 dirhams (DH)), IB Maroc.com (+4.04% to 43.99 DH), Balima (+3.94% to 124 DH), Oulmès (+3.93% to 1,244 DH) and Risma (+2.66% to 113.95 DH).
In contrast, Timar (-3.99% to 152.65 DH), Microdata (-3.68% to 655 DH), Afric Industrie SA (-2.99% to 357 DH), Afriquia Gaz (-2 .54% to 5,750 DH) and Med Paper (-2.26% to 26 DH) showed the largest declines.
