The Casablanca-Settat region concentrates nearly 30.7% of declared companies

At the end of 2019, the Casablanca-Settat region concentrated nearly 30.7% of the total number of companies declared, at the national level, to the DGI, the CNSS or the OMPIC, i.e. 175,653 active companies, of which 87.6% are micro-enterprises with an individual turnover of less than 3 million dirhams.

According to a report by the Moroccan Observatory of TPME, 78% of companies in this region are concentrated in the prefecture of Casablanca. At the sectoral level, more than 48% of companies operated in trade and construction in 2019. VSMEs employed more than 63% of the workforce declared to the CNSS, once morest 73.1% at the scale.

The same report, drawn up on the basis of data stopped at the end of 2019 and the end of 2020 for employment, draws up the inventory of the productive fabric of the Casablanca-Settat region, more than 88% of these jobs being concentrated at the level of the prefecture of Casablanca.

As part of its mission to produce statistics and indicators on the national productive fabric, the Moroccan Observatory of the TPME draws up reports on this fabric with the contribution of the CRIs.

This is a regional variation of its annual report produced at the national level, the objective of which is to provide a diagnosis of the productive system of the different regions of the Kingdom and to make available to public actors, in particular the CRIs, and private a series of key indicators of the demography and the economic and financial health of companies, in particular the VSMEs which constitute an important component of the Moroccan economy.
