The head of the Carter Center Monitoring Mission, Jennie Lincoln, said there are no signs of a cyber attack on the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Venezuela and that after reviewing the available information, she “confirmed” the victory of opposition candidate Edmundo González Urrutia.
In an interview with AFP, reported by Aristegui Noticias, Jennie Lincoln said that the lack of transparency of the electoral authority was the “great irregularity” of the elections.
He also said that the government had had a “very long” period of time to provide the data, but had simply failed to do so.
Jennie Lincoln said that the CNE has the data, but decided not to release it.
In another interview with Noticias RCN, he said that the government simply “did not feel like” making the records transparent.
Since Monday, July 29, the Carter Center has asked the Venezuelan CNE to immediately publish all the minutes of the polling stations installed during the election day.
