Pamplona, Mar 15 (EFE).- A caravan of trucks has made visible this Tuesday on the roads of Navarra the mobilizations of the carriers who have delivered a letter to the headquarters of the Provincial Government a document that includes some “historical” claims, a consequence of the “abandonment and lack of government support.
The Hiru carriers, to which those of Tradisna have joined, have called a very noisy caravan on their second day of strike, which has departed from the Bideko Aterpe facilities in Galar and has concluded in Pamplona, where, according to the Municipal Police, there have been retentions due to the occupation of the roadway by trucks during the protest, but the cross roads have not had to be cut off to traffic.
The carriers have described the protest as “spectacular”, and tomorrow they will carry out a similar initiative once more, in this case in Vitoria-Gasteiz, where they will deliver a similar document to the headquarters of the Basque Executive.
From there, it will be seen what the administration’s response is, Alberto Núñez Corral, Hiru’s technician, has told the media, who has remarked that at the moment the strike called by the Transport Defense Platform is indefinite and they support it.
“The people are burned out, the transportation people need clear support, that a cable be thrown from the administration, not only that they lower the diesel tax as soon as there is a situation, but a clear support, clear measures so that the sector can survive, move forward and in the way it is constituted,” he asserted.
In this regard, he recalled that currently the majority of transport authorizations belong to small carriers, freelancers, small companies with two or three vehicles and, he denounced, they “are the last ones that the Administration has noticed”.
