According to initial information, the fire may have broken out while driving towards Salzburg. The driver managed to park the smoking vehicle and the occupants were able to get to safety in time. A little later the car was fully engulfed in flames.
Three fire brigades from the area were alerted. When they arrived at the scene, the flames had already engulfed the entire vehicle, and the dark column of smoke might be seen from a distance.
The fire was quickly extinguished, but the car burned out completely. During the operation, there were traffic delays in the area of the operation site.
