A 19-year-old probationary driver’s license holder was caught driving at a speed of 141 kilometers per hour in a 60 km/h section in Rankweil (Feldkirch district) on Wednesday. The young man’s driver’s license was immediately confiscated after he was stopped and the vehicle was also temporarily confiscated, the police said.
The 19-year-old was traveling on the federal highway (L190) towards Röthis shortly after 8 p.m. Because an immediate stop was not possible, officers briefly followed the man. The 19-year-old and his two passengers were stopped in Röthis.
