the capacity of the batteries could increase except for one model

The iPhone 14 and 14 Pro would see their battery capacity increase while the iPhone 14 Pro Max would suffer a small loss. The iPhone 14 Max meanwhile would align with the Pro Max. If this information were to be verified, the impact on the autonomy of the devices would still have to be determined.

Gone are the days when followers d’Android might make fun of the battery of users ofiPhoneboth the last iPhone 13 and in particular the version Pro Max have set the bar very high. Hold on tight to your seat, the generation of iPhone 14 might go even further.

Two ups and one down

A post published on Baidu and picked up by theinsider ShrimpApplePro details the possible capacities of the batteries of the future iPhone 14. Here they are:

  • iPhone 14: 3279 mAh (compared to 3227 mAh on the iPhone 13)
  • iPhone 14 Max: 4325 mAh (first version)
  • iPhone 14 Pro: 3200 mAh (compared to 3095 mAh on the iPhone 13 Pro)
  • iPhone 14 Pro Max: 4323 mAh (compared to 4352 mAh on the iPhone 13 Pro Max)

Note that at this stage, this information is obviously not confirmed by Apple, so it should be heard with a little perspective. Let’s add that the original post on Baidu has been deleted. The reasons behind this deletion belong of course to its author and if some media see it as a masked confirmation (an accurate leak under more pressure than a false one), we will not go that far.

What regarding the impact on autonomy?

The question that immediately comes to mind when seeing these hypothetical battery capacities is obviously that of the impact on daily use. The iPhone 13 Pro Max is already a monster of autonomy, one would be tempted to say that it should not suffer too much from its very slight loss. Let’s add that the iPhone 14 Max would possibly have the same autonomy, which would be very good news. Similarly, the gain on the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro is too insignificant to imagine a breathtaking fallout.

On the other hand, iOS 16 should add a mode always-on display in addition to its set of widgets for the lock screen. Two uses that might slightly attack the autonomy of the latest Apple products. But that remains to be seen and we will judge on the spot during our tests.
