Not invited to a job interview – a dispute

According to Rūta Globytė, attorney at WIDEN, associate partner, most of the disputes arise from not having received the full salary, dismissals.

Among them, there are also cases when, for example, employees refuse to work with one or another specific client without any important reasons, do not come to work. The employer then fires the employee, and that person contests the firing, claiming that it was intended to deal with him.

“In general, the concepts of coping and psychological violence at work are common in disputes, almost every dismissal is followed by requests from employees for non-pecuniary damages due to psychological violence, and the dismissal itself is considered psychological violence, which is usually not true”, – 15min said R. Globytė.

However, there are some more bizarre disputes. As lawyer Evelina Kiznė said, some applicants have to be dissuaded.

“Usually there is not much to aim for there, except for honor. But I always say that you don’t need to pay money to a lawyer for honor,” she said.

And one of the more unusual complaints that has been on the rise recently is that the candidate was not offered a job or was not invited to a job interview – in his own opinion, he meets all the required criteria and would be a great employee for the company.
