Retiring a special player’s jersey after retirement is a long-standing tradition that has continued throughout the years in all major sports in North America.

In the NHL, the Montreal Canadiens are not giving up their place when it comes to jersey retirements, while several greats have donned the blue-white-red over the years.

But where does the team rank compared to the rest of the league’s organizations?

The site Daily Faceoff took the time to compile all the jerseys retired in the NHL to draw up a ranking.
